Courses and training
Learn it properly, or take it home with you
Two kinds of course. One is professional training with CPD. The other is for your own life.
Which one are you here for
You work with people in conflict
You mediate, or you are a solicitor who attends mediation, or you supervise people who do. You have been trained in process, law and skills — and never in what happens inside you when a session turns personal.
You are working on your own life
You are burnt out, disconnected, or going through the motions in a relationship that used to matter. You would rather work through something at your own pace than book a session, at least to begin with.
CPD accredited · The Psychology of Mediation
Mediation training teaches process. It rarely teaches what happens inside the mediator.
Seven independent modules, each built around real mediation scenarios and drawn from clinical work in existential psychotherapy, CAT, attachment-based family work and sexology. Each one stands alone. There are no prerequisites and no required order, and each carries its own CPD certificate.
Channel one
Translation
Receiving what a party brings and returning it in a form they can work with.
Channel two
Experience-near presence
Moving close to a party's felt experience without losing your own footing.
Channel three
Somatic attunement
Treating bodily signals as information to follow until the session's rhythm returns.
These three channels are The Living Instrument. You do not need prior knowledge of it — each module introduces what it needs.
The modules
Seven modules
Live online over two half-days, or recorded and studied at your own pace. Live groups are capped at sixteen so there is time to practise.
When the Room Gets Personal
Transference and countertransference in mediation
Every mediator has had a session where a party gets under their skin, or where they suddenly feel protective, irritated, bored or drawn in. That is not a lapse in professionalism. It is information.

The Body in the Room
Somatic attunement for mediators
Your body often registers what is happening in a session before your mind does. Most training ignores these signals. This module teaches you to read them, and to settle yourself when a session is escalating so that you can help settle the room.

Reciprocal Roles
CAT tools for understanding high-conflict parties
Why do some parties keep repeating the same pattern, whatever you do? Cognitive Analytic Therapy gives a clear answer. You will learn to map the roles in a dispute, spot when you are being invited into one, and choose a response that opens up movement.

Shame, Blame and Defence
Working with strong emotion at the table
Behind most blaming, stonewalling and sudden walk-outs sits shame. When a party feels exposed or judged, they defend, and the mediation stalls. This module gives you practical ways to lower the temperature so people can stay at the table.

Attachment and Separation
What is really going on in family mediation
Separation is an attachment crisis. Arguments about money, houses and weekends are often arguments about loss, fear and safety. This module shows how to create enough safety for practical decisions to be made, with children's needs kept in view.

When Affairs Come to Mediation
Infidelity, betrayal and sexual issues in family disputes
An affair is often the unspoken third party in the room. Drawing on clinical sexology, this module gives you the confidence to handle affairs and sexual issues when they surface: what to say, what not to say, where the boundaries of mediation lie, and when to refer on.

Using Yourself in Supervision
Reflective practice for mediators and supervisors
Good supervision goes beyond case management. This module shows supervisors how to bring transference, countertransference and parallel process into supervision safely and usefully, and keeps the line between supervision and therapy clear.

For firms and services
Or bring it to your team
Any module can be delivered in-house to a mediation service, a family law team or a chambers, online or in person, with CPD hours included. Useful if you want everyone working from the same language rather than one person coming back with notes.
For you, not for work
Courses for your own life
Both of these are being built now. Tell me you want one and I will let you know when it opens, with nothing else sent in between.
The Burnt-Out Man to The Grounded Man
For men running on empty. A step-by-step programme for finding your ground again — not by doing more, which is how you got here, but by working out what you have been carrying and why you cannot put it down.
Relationship Burnout Programme
For when the relationship feels like one more job. A way back to each other that does not start with trying harder. Work through it on your own, or alongside your partner.
Not sure which one
Tell me what you are dealing with — at the table or at home — and I will tell you which module is worth your money, or whether none of them is.
